(750 words) As UCLA Anderson notes in its general instructions, it is interested in learning about your “life experience, aspirations, and goals,” and what better place to start than with your upbringing? This definitely represents a contrast from the usual “personal statement” type of query that typically begins a business school application. This question is intended to reveal the key elements of your development, allowing you to recognize and give credit to others for where you now find yourself in the world, both personally and professionally, or perhaps even to spotlight your own strength and resiliency, if you had a difficult family dynamic or one that offered little or no support. Candidates should definitely avoid beginning their essay with a statement such as “I was born in St.Louis, Missouri, on April 1, 1979” and proceeding chronologically from there. This essay will need to be more thematic and conceptual, rather than a timeline. In this essay, you can freely provide more information on your personal background than is typically acceptable or possible in MBA application essays. How you answer the question can give the school some insight as to where you feel you fit in the world as well as what kind of life you might create going forward. If you are having difficulty measuring this, you may want to try out your ideas on friends and coworkers to see what they find most unexpected. Once you have identified a possible topic, compare and contrast your obvious persona (e.g., entrepreneur, banker, philanthropist) with your proposed “surprising revelation” for this essay. If you can list as many, or more, similarities as dissimilarities between the two, you should likely keep brainstorming. As an example, for someone who works within a rigid structure for their job function, such as an accountant, having a hobby or other interest that is also highly structured, such as doing puzzles or assembling models, may not seem that surprising. Wheaton Glass Company in 1970, the U.S. Court of Appeals ruled that jobs held by men and women must be substantially equal but not identical to fall under the protection of the Equal Pay Act. This was a success for the feminist movement, as it made it illegal for employers to change the job titles of women workers in order to pay them less than men. Betty Friedan organised the Women s Strike for Equality on August 26, 1970 which was the 50th anniversary of woman suffrage in the U.S. 50,000 women participated in the Strike to demand equal rights. In 1972, Washington, D.C., established the first rape crisis hotline. The Title IX of the Higher Education Act was passed by Congress in 1972, meaning that discrimination on the basis of sex in any educational program was prohibited. The Human to Robot Connection In the movie â€Å"Ex Machina† the director Alex Garland communicates with viewers that robots and humans can have relationships. Throughout the film the way robot, Ava, is portrayed is human like and she is able to build relationships with people. Alex Garland uses the way the camera is placed or way things are filmed to put emphasis on these interactions. Citadel by Ne Obliviscaris free essay sample

Though relatively new to the heavy metal fold, they are a force to be reckoned with. Coming from Australia, this is a band that have only had two albums and a demo but have been around since the early 2000s. Falling under the category of either technical death metal or, to a much larger extend, progressive death metal and can combine elements, much like Steven Wilson, from pretty much anywhere. Trust me, youre going to love it. Citadel is their sophomore album and is at a length of about 50 minutes. Containing supposedly six tracks, though its really three, expect alot of epicness in this very album. The name Tim Charles is also vitally important if you must talk about this album as he is a multi-instrumentalist being able to play the piano/keyboard, violin and also does the clean vocals from this album. I find influences from early Opeth, Between the Buried and Me, Emperor, and maybe some Dan Swano works as well, all of which make this album just that much more diverse and interesti ng. One three track song, The Temptist of Our Stars, can take up almost half the album and despite its length, goes by very quickly. Though through this one song, expect to see many interesting things and emotions that leave you jaw-dropped. The next track, Pyyrich, is only ten minutes and the only one that isnt multiple parts as well making its own stand-alone story in the process. Including some deviations from the last track and building soon it as much as it can in ten minutes or so. The last two tracks make another multi-part song that is close to around 15-17 in length. This is a bit more heavy and brutal when compared to the others but it contains as much as the others as well. The last track includes nothing but a melodic bass, piano, and a soft violin solo. Yep, I said it. There are violin solos in this album and they can send some almost Avant Garde diversity into the mix. Even if it ever plays, Timmy makes su re to send some sort emotion right to you whether it be scared, sadness, anger, or even positive emotions. Timmy can do so much with this instrument that it can boggle the minds of many including me who actually plays such a delicate instrument myself. With fluttering spicattos at the highest notes on violin to some almost fiddle or folky styled writing. Im honestly suprised to say it adds to the massiveness of the music its self and tone of said music unlike anything you and I mightve never experienced before. The bassline is also fast and sometimes hard to follow but very, very talented indeed. With what seems to be a cross between Iron Maiden and Animals As Leaders in terms of his style of play. Trust me, if you can combine those two styles and make it awesome youre a genius. I think thats enough sugarcoating for now, right? You should know exactly what Ill give it. A 10/10. Pure brilliance and they seem to always to try something completely new and succeed. Bravo to them, and br avo to Australia for having some awesome underground metal. I can see these guys rising up to the metal gods of this generation now just you wait. I am the Grim Reaper, signing off.
